22 July (San Francisco / Las Vegas Time)
4:30am
Still working furiously on the assignment. Did the tour guide say that we are leaving for Las Vegas at 5:15am? That is soo early.. and I need to rushed this out.
5:15am
Sent my assignment out. That's it. I'm not making anymore amendments. Packed my stuff and
came out of my room, only to see my neighbours enjoying the morning scene from the common corridor. "You are early" they said, and pointing to our tour guide's room which is another door away, they said "Even our tour guide is still not awake." Thank God that they are around to tell me that the boaridng time to the bus is actually 6.30am! Tried to get some breakfast from the reception but apparently an earlier tour group has swiped everything. So I went back to my room and laid down on the much unused bed.
6:15am
Came out of my room to board the bus. Went to get the free orange/apple juice and breakfast. Then i realised that the boarding time is 6.15am and not 6.30am. Am so embarrassed to be late!
Leaving Rodeway Inn.

Travelling into the desert, the land just got more and more bare..

12pm
We stopped at some factory outlets for lunch and shopping.

Actually saw Burberry's perfume but it slipped my mind the exact perfume that PrisSeah wanted. So I didn't buy it. Sorry Pris! I'll get it when i pass by shopping outlets again. =p

3pm
Entering Las Vegas..

And seeing a city pop out in the middle of the desert.

3.45pm
Checked into our budget hotel, Las Vegas Club. Does USA really have budget hotels? The photo isn't clear, but i've got a bed so big you could sleep 3 persons on it comfortably.

4.30pm
Rested a while and hopped onto the Las Vegas city tour!
The first stop was to Rio.

You know, in the day time on the outside, the city looks quiet, almost prim and proper. Yet the moment you step into each hotel, voila!! You experience totally different sights and sounds.
(Tthe above photo is courtesy of travelmate, Tesh)Here's the Masquarade in the Sky show in Rio Hotel.

Now guys, are you looking at the pretty bare ladies or the actual things I was trying to take?

Next stop is to Ceaser's Palace.

The free show is about the fall of Alanta. Not exactly very spectacular. Just that the 2 statues that were fighting were indeed very delicate robots which moves almost like a real human. Of course the water and fire effect gave the show a little more credit =p

Then we went to Venetian. This hotel is famous for it's painted sky. It's so real that it doesn't look and feel as though you are indoors.
Do I look like i've reached Venice?

Yes, I'm still indoors and not on the first floor actually! Amazing layout isn't it?
Wanted to use my handphone to take this long stretch of wall (there are at least 12 figurines if i'm not wrong) when i couldn't find my handphone!! So upset!! I thought I lost my phone!!Thank God that the handphone is not lost, i left it in the coach! I know that mom reading this will say that i'm such a muddle-headed pig. But I figured out that God has placed these little mishaps and stresses in my life so as to keep me close to Him when I pray more intensely. Thank you Jesus. =)
Next we went to Riveria as some of the tourists bought tickets to a show inside. I didn't buy it. Chose to walk around the area instead. We were warned that casinos are designed in such a manner that we have to be careful where we are going, else we'll find ourselves lost in a maze of jackpots..

It's truly an adult disneyland isn't it? Especially for the men...

Decided to be more "innocent" and went to Circus Circus to look around.

We have about 90 mins of free time to walk around and have dinner.
Circus Circus is the only place where the kids can go and have fun.

The second floor is filled with games which we can find at fun fair. I particularly find this fun. People will have to roll the balls into the hole with the highest score. And the horses will move accordingly. The winner is the one whose horse cross the finishing line first. Do i make sense? Anyway, it's really fun seeing the people play.
I thought that the show was at the hour, but when I reached there, it was to start at 8:15pm. Oh well, since i'm so tired, i gladly found a seat and closed my eyes while waiting. Here comes the juggler. He was good. He managed to juggle 7 bottles or balls at a time at an incredibly fast speed!
Tesh had to go outside of the casino to answer a call. "Go ahead, I'll find you after the show" I said.
Here's how Circus Circus does it. They have a different 10 min show every 30 mins. After the juggler is the trapeze, followed by the acrobats etc. The first floor are where the adults could have fun in the casino. The second floor is where kids can have wholesome fun.
Guess what? The tour guide is right. I got lost when i tried to get out of the casino ( I knew I was lost cos i remember seeing a Jaguar, not a BMW when i came in). When I finally found my way out. Tesh told me that he too also got lost while on his way out. Well, what can i say? The casino succeeded in keeping us longer in it!
For dinner, I opened the fruit that Ian had given me in the lunch box. I had thought it was an apple and was pleasantly surprised when i realised that it is a sweet juicy peach!
9pm
Is it the heat (it's 38 degrees!!) or am I too exhausted (since i really haven't slept since last night)? I begun to have a splitting headache and tried to close my eyes whenever i can.
Pressed on to watch the volcano erupt at the Mirage.

And the fountain at Bellagio.
