St Peter's Fish and Jordan River!

Lunch!!! And thank God!!! No more Falafel for lunch! =P

We are having a special St Peter's Fish set meal! Above is a Pita bread (it's flat cos it's empty) and soup (i think it's just the usual lentil soup). We are to mix the Pita bread with the food items below.

We were eating happily away when we were told "Don't eat too full! That's not the main dish!"

Here comes the St.Peter's Fish! Huge!! With plain rice which we haven't seen for days! But oops.. the rice is salty! It's nice.. but we just wonder if they cooked the rice in the salty seawater =P

Ending off the meal with some really huge and naturally sweet dates! Yum yum!

2.45pm Going to Capernaum

In search of Peter's house!

Matthew8:14-15. "When Jesus came into Peter's house, he saw Peter's mother-in-law lying in bed with a fever. He touched her hand and the fever left her, and she got up and began to wait on him. " Here's where Jesus healed Peter's mother-in-law.

This synagogue is built much later. You can see from the huge stone slabs that the synagogue (they call it a house of gathering) is made in later times.

Last stop of the day! Baptism at Jordan River.

Yardenit: Yarden means Jordan. -it means little one. So Yardenite means "of Jordan" or "Little Jordan".

Here's what it looks like. I had wanted to commemorate my Baptism in the Jordan River as I had never undergone water immersion baptism before. But due to my chicken pox, the doctor has advised against going into the water to prevent risk of infection.

Ephesians 4:4-6

"There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to one hope when you were called— one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all."

Many people getting baptism at the site (You would have to pay USD10 for the baptismal gown and you'll get a nice certificate for getting baptised there).

Empty bottles on sale again for you to scoop the water if you want. Just for your info, just on the opposite site of the riverbank, was a horse range. And from this side here, we could smell the horses'.. erm.. daily activities' inputs and outputs :P

Back to the hotel for a nice dinner!

Long and fruitful day. As for me, I thank God deeply for bringing me here and bringing me through.

Luke8:22-25

One day Jesus said to his disciples, "Let's go over to the other side of the lake." So they got into a boat and set out. As they sailed, he fell asleep. A squall came down on the lake, so that the boat was being swamped, and they were in great danger. The disciples went and woke him, saying, "Master, Master, we're going to drown!" He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm. "Where is your faith?" he asked his disciples. In fear and amazement they asked one another, "Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him."

Jesus said to go over to the other side and they did, despite the storms that came their way.

God has already brought me all the way here into His Holy Land, how could I have doubted Him that He wouldn't bring me through it. Forgive me Lord for my little faith!
