Garden of Gethsemane

Walking towards where the last supper was taken, and saw a sculptor of King David playing on the harp. 2.15pm

Luke 22:8-12
Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, "Go and make preparations for us to eat the Passover."
"Where do you want us to prepare for it?" they asked.
He replied, "As you enter the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him to the house that he enters, and say to the owner of the house, 'The Teacher asks: Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?' He will show you a large upper room, all furnished. Make preparations there."

And here we are, standing at the very place where the Last Supper was taken.

And here's also where the Pentecost happened.

Acts 2: 1-4
When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

2.30pm Walking to Caiphas house (And the Garden of Gethsethmane is slightly further down. Imagine the distance Jesus and his disciples walked after the passover meal.)

2.30pm
Caiphas house.

Art pieces depicting the journey of Jesus' suffering and cruxificion along the way.

The picture above shows Jesus and his disciples crossing the Kidron valley after the passover meal. The picture belows shows those who arrested Jesus bringing him to Caiphas house.
Ancient stairs on the left, and modern stairs on the right.
Along the walls on the left was a sign on which is written " The Lord turned and looked at Peter. And Peter went out and wept bitterly". I guess this is where Peter denied Jesus three times.
A sculptor of the suffering Christ who was lowered into this pit.

A very small space, dark and lonely corner.
Finally I got to eat a fig! (Tho it's a dried one.) It's big huh?

Yet another beautiful sunset. This time, in the land of Jerusalem.
Reaching the Garden of Gethsemane.
Matthew 26:36
Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, "Sit here while I go over there and pray."
It was here that Jesus prayed that God's will be done.
It was here that Jesus was betrayed by Judas.
It was here that His disciples fled and forsook Him.

Look at how huge the fig trees are. See the thickness of the trunk. These trees are over hundreds of years old.

We stayed for while (till dark) at the Garden of Gethsemane which was full of fig trees. Finding a personal corner to spend some quiet moments with the Lord alone, I wondered and realised how difficult it is to pray like Jesus did "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will." "My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done." No wonder Jesus told his disciples "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak."

It's been a fruitful day! And no.. I'm a good gal, this is non-alcoholic drink. Okok.. there was an alcoholic one.. I din get a chance to take a photo of that.

My dinner!
Soup with noodles!

And guess what's on tv at night?

Da Chang Jin! The drama is in korean but the subtitles are in hebrew. =)
Time to sleep!
