Going through Hezekiah's Tunnel

Lunch Time!! Israeli pizza?

Made fresh on the spot! In from the right and baked hot out from the left!

Into a Jewish shop and hearing from a Jew's perspective and understanding of God.

But oops, the shop was attending to another group before us, so here's some of us enjoying some Israeli cheesecake and coffee at a nearby cafe. 2.30pm Going to a rather special place where the various items of the tabernacle has been already made and prepared for the 3rd temple. Here we learnt about the 1st temple built by King Solomon and the 2nd temple built by King Herod.

We were told that the second temple was destroyed in hatred and that the third temple will be built with love. Here is where a model of the third temple has been concieved but is this what God wants?

Enough pondering for the day. More adventures!

Heard of Hezekiah's Tunnel?

2 Kings 20:20

And the rest of the acts of Hezekiah, and all his might,

and how he made a pool, and a conduit, and brought water into the city,

are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?"

Apparently 2 groups of people started digging a tunnel from 2 separate ends and was surprisingly able to meet in the middle!

In later times, they found a second tunnel which they call it the canaanite tunnel also known as the dry tunnel.

And yes, if that was a dry tunnel, this would be a wet tunnel!

Thank God that the water was shallow during this time of the year.. at it's highest point, only at the thigh!

I heard that during the Mar-May period the water can go as high as up to the chest level!
That would have been so cold!

Dinner finally after a long day!

And dessert! Someone came to our table and whispered "Hey, there's a new tray of cheesecake that just came out! Very nice! Go and take!" Rev Stephen looked puzzled and said to us on the same table"How can that be? It's Kosher food here, there's no dairy products for dinner." I don't know what it was made of. But it sure looked and tasted similar. Mock Cheesecakes for the Jews just like we have Mock meat for the Vegetarians. =PHey, I'm not ending today's post with dinner!

I'm ending it with Rev Stephen as the poster boy for Israeli Coke Bottle.

And a coin-operated Massage chair in the hotel lobby! I had always thought that this is a good business idea, some dollars for some ten minutes of massage. Didn't know that they already have it here in this part of the world!

Sneaking out at night to take a peek at the Old Jerusalem City.

Seeing for myself again the reason they call this the Land Flowing with Milk and Honey..
See how big the brinjal is beside my foot!
I have little knowledge of chestnuts, but the aunties told me that the chestnuts here are big too!

Okie, that's all folks for today! Good night!
