In the midst of the Typhoon

So this was what greeted me as I left my hotel to explore some other parts of the historical Macau. If I were to come back the next time, I would try to book Ole London Hotel. It's also a 2+ star hotel. For MOP400 per night on a weekday, it's pretty good with free internet facilities at the Hotel Lobby. And a nice fountain outside nearby. =) While walking towards Ponte16 Hotel/Casino, I saw a streetside stall and thought I might want to be adventurous..
Pigs intestines, Cow's ear.. Minimum order MOP10.. So let's add the pig stomach and skin as well. Hmmm...it's quite nice actually.. except that the sauce was a tad salty..

Along the way, I saw some interesting signs along some pillars..

It's notices written by a wife forgiving and pleading for her husband to return home.
Amidst the reality humble and old building, a posh hotel/casino suddenly sprouted up in front of us.
Casino Ponte16, one of the most northern hotel in this area.

And then finally to the beginning of the historical sites.

This is St Dominic church.

While in search of St Paul's ruin, I saw a dedicated corner for the elderly folks to relax in the "neighbourhood".
And it's called in literal translation, Eternal Blessed Garden. I found that Macau really has interesting and meaningful street names.
And so I walked and walked and walked...
And finally saw a temple! This is the Na Tcha Temple. Not that I was interested in finding it, but it was an important landmark for me to get to the ruins of St Paul!
So I'm finally here!
The ruins of St Paul by the night!

Again in literal english translation, this is the place where people gather to remember Jesus.
The church building may be in ruins, but the followers of Christ remains.

The many steps that many pilgrims take to reach the top of St Paul's Ruins.

And since I'm here, why not explore the Mount Fortress.
This scene actually reminds me of David's wall in Jerusalem.
The city walls and the canons protuding at every "hideout".
And the city gate.
It's actually a musuem now.
Walking back to my hotel, the night scene of Senado Square prevailed.

That was St Dominic's Church and this is the Holy House of Mercy.
My Humble Bode at Kou Va, MOP400 per night during weekends (whether it's for 1 person or 2 persons). Simple 2 bedder with attached toilet.

Not bad I would say. =) At least it protected me from the Typhoon which came and left overnight. Thanking God for His Providence and Protection thus far!
Psalms 107:29-31
He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed.
They were glad when it grew calm, and He guided them to their desired haven.
Let them give thanks to the LORD for His unfailing love and His wonderful deeds for men.
