As if my days had not been bad enough.. let me share with you two of the days among the bad days..
Friday
Saw that I missed my bus to work as I crossed the road. Waited for sometime, and after some buses, I thought I saw my bus coming. I got up the bus and then 1 bus stop later, I stared blankly into space as the bus did not turn left into the usual route. Did the bus change route or did I take the wrong bus? Either answer will not lead me to my office and I had to get off the bus, and make a big detour... a typical 15mins journey costing 70cents ended up nearly an hour, costing $7.. What a way to start my day?
Saturday
Had to go to the maid agency to sort out some stuff... I didn't feel like walking ten minutes to the bus stop and waiting another ten minutes for bus and so decided to cycle to Bukit Timah instead. I had estimated the cycling to be about 20mins. Just before I got out of my house, mom asked "What if it rains?", and I ignored that warning thinking that the rain would not come since it did rain the night before. Little did I expect that I was only 10 mins and halfway through the journey that raindrops began to fall on my head! Sigh.. So I had to stop the cycling at the nearest bus stop, find a pillar to lock the bike, and because I was on the opposite side of the road, I had to brave the road to cross the road to take the bus from the other bus stop. You wouldn't believe it. The rain actually stopped before the bus arrived. So I decided to cross back the road and carry on the cycling. And you either laugh at this or you'll cry with me... For a good 5 mins, I tried unlocking my bike and the lock just wouldn't bulge! For a while, I wondered if that guy at the bus stop and others passing by wondered if I was trying to steal a bike! Finally I gave up and being dejected, I didn't want to take the bus either and ended walked the rest of the journey to my destination..
Came home and tuned in to YouTube for this song to cheer myself up.
I giggle and smile silently as I imagined close friends who sympathise with me singing this song in that voice to me.
Actually, you either laugh things off, or you feel miserable about it.
Mom was right to say that the rain came before I reached Bukit Timah, cos at the end of the day, I had a friend who worked at Beauty World who saved my day with the WD40 from her office.
Lord, remind me once again, that God's will for me in Christ Jesus, is to give thanks in all circumstances (Thess 5:18).
