From ShenZhen back to Macau

Taking the MRT to the Lychee Garden. Will I see Lychees? Why do I see Longans instead?

A photo with Mao Ze Dong before entering the park.

In Lychee Garden.
No..these are not Lychee Flowers..
Unfortunately there seem to be no lychees in sight. =( The season is over and they have all been harvested.

Listen to the Command of God.

What do you hear from the bamboo trees?

Lunch! And free Wi-Fi in the restaurant so that I can chat with mom.
Rushing to Shekou Ferry Terminal to catch the Ferry back to Macau.

Just in time to catch the 4.45pm ferry.

Rush to wait, and wait to rush.

View from the Ferry.

Back to Macau! From the Ferry Terminal, there was a free shuttle bus to MGM.. So .. just take it lah..

Greeted by the magnificent lion and then not far off, there was a goddess of mercy.

So where do I go from here? Or rather, how do I go from here.. to one of the activities which I told myself I must catch while I am in Macau.. No, it's not horse racing.. I can catch that in Singapore.

It's Greyhound racing!

See how the trainers strut their doggies. The punters observe the doggies the moment they are let out of the cage and being dressed. The doggies will then poo-poo and the punters will observe the condition of the poo and the pee... before placing the bets..The dogs obediently goes into the cage which opens when the "bunny" zooms past and the dogs just go into a frenzy of chasing after a white styrofoam thingy. They run and run, maybe for days and for weeks and for months. And they never get to the "bunny", and probably never realizing that the "bunny" is not a bunny.. As I look at the dogs running, I wondered if we humans are the same too? Perhaps even more so in this competitive Singapore. The folks are in constant race for the elusive "more", you just keep running and going.. and some folks are able to reach their first goals, some never.. but whatever it is, people just keep running.. They enter the cage of school and run for the best. Then they enter the cage of college and run for the best. They enter the cage of workplace and run for their career. People run for money, fame and positions. And because the definition of "more" never ends, they just keep running.. What do we run after in life? What should we run after in life?

Dinner cum Supper! The Egg Beef rice, which comes with spare ribs soup and some vegetables was actually quite filling. But I just wanted to try the freshwater crab porridge too..So I tried.. and I must admit that it is cumbersome to eat this.. it's not soft-shell crab you know.. you gotta eat with your hands.. and remove the shells or dig out the flesh ... it's tacky food... but i did enjoy it.. the porridge seeped into the crab and when you bite into the crab, it gives you a savoury overflowing juicy feeling. Yum! =)

Checked into a hotel..a supposed 2++ star hotel called Jai Ho. I'm not recommending this to other backpackers. It's way too expensive for a 2++ star hotel at RMB600 (for a 2 bedder), the service is not exactly helpful, there's no internet access, there's no power outlet (you need to trade your TV source for a power outlet) and you need to get an adaptor to charge your hp/camera/laptop. But then again, perhaps cos this is the casino strip and prices are a little jacked up..

Wanted to spend the night walking around the casinos here. The exterior of the casinos are not bad. Wynn, Sands, Lisboa, MGM and other smaller ones.. But the inside disappointed me. There are no decorations, there are no themes. Just the plain old casinos... except that they have virtual roulettes and the chinese big/small.

Like what colleague said. If you haven't been to any casinos, do this :
1) Go to a country club in Singapore and pull the jackpot machine (you go "ok, so it's like this")
2) Go to Genting Highlands in Malaysia and enter a casino there (you go, "wah")
3) Go to Macau for more casinos, (you go, "Oh wow, wah")
4) Go to Las Vegas for the real thing (You go, "WAH WAH WAH")
So because I've been to Las Vegas, I'm sorry Macau, the historical sites and some of the food is interesting. But for the casinos, no, it shouldn't be a selling point.. except for people who just want to go there to gamble.
