Well, we can also thank God that Hmay's own body recognises that the blood cells are breaking down, and thus knows how to generate more blood to replace the broken cells. If Hmay wasn't generating new red blood cells, all her red blood cells might have been disintegrated by now...
However, shortly after, she became unwell again. I thought she shouldn't proceed with the walk, but after a few minutes of rest, she really wanted to walk. So we walked a shorter distance than Thursday but it was definitely an enjoyable one for Hmay as she peered out of the windows along the corridor and look at the world outside for the first time in 10 days. =)
After the walk, Hmay was visibly tired. She drank some water from a cup unaided, but maybe it's because she drank too fast, and she ended up "pouring" out about a quarter cup of water. She didn't have much appettite after that. She felt terrible at her stomach area and she couldn't explain the kind of discomfort (it's not wind, not constipation, not something she recognises). She stared (and contemplated) at her dinner for sometime and said "Sorry to disappoint you guys, I really have no appetite for this" before plopping back to the bed. She really wasn't feeling too good. Not even wanting or daring to move unnecessarily in bed, for fear of discomfort that will cause her to be nauseous. I was told that the nauseous feeling is caused by the high creatinine level (see May 20) in her.
Pray that Hmay's creatinine level will go down to normal level in a week or so (Though hardly significant, there has been a very slight drop which we can give thanks for). They have been giving her some sort of "diuretics" to help flush away the "toxins". Let's pray that the "toxins" will be removed as soon as possible. If the creatinine level still remains so high, Hmay might have to go for a one time dialysis. Her mom hopes that Hmay will not have to go through dialysis at all.
Please pray also for the family as they make a decision to transfer Hmay to a public hospital. Pray for wisdom and good guidance as to which hospital will be able to provide the best care and expertise at a more reasonable cost.
Please pray also that the whole family (esp Hmay's mom, Auntie Pearl) will remain emotionally and physically strong in times like these, especially when there isn't much information on the illness.
Let's continue to uphold our dear sister in prayer.
