A Day of Thanksgiving =)

When I received those smses these morning, my soul was really uplifted. (That's why i quickly updated the blog so that we all could have something to smile about today.)

At first I thought I wouldn't be able to make it down today due to many tight schedules of meetings, but my boss postponed the last meeting to tomorrow. So I thought I would still go down to take a look because many times, Hmay is alert in the day, but by night she would get tired.

When I reached the hospital, she was soundly asleep. Her mom said that she had a great morning. She only got tired after she took a bath. A nice clean bath after all these while! =)

Thank God! Her blood count is now back to normal (at a count of 12). We were wondering on the possibility that Hmay's body now know how to generate good red blood cells. :p Her Creatinine level is also dropping gradually. With a different set of measurement, she has a count of 700, down from yesterday's 900 and the previous levels of around 1000. Though it may seem like a far cry from the normal count of less than 100 (pardon me, i can't remember the actual figure), it's really great to know that Hmay's improving. This means we can "chuck" the dialysis thought at the back of our mind, and having Hmay being discharged as an outpatient can become a fast reality :)

When Hmay woke up, she listened to a cd sermon and sat up on her own for dinner. Guess what? She requested to change the porridge for solid food! She ate rice! :) She also drank a whole bowl of soup and ate a pear at the end of it. :) She's such a blessed gal -- i haven't peeled any fruit for a long time now and there i was "de-skining" the pear for her. Also, she no longer have the pins and needles feeling too. =)

She only whined twice (true to her sms), when the nurse injected the "diuretics", and when she had to take the medicine. She really disliked the taste of the Potassium pills and literally tried to crawl away from it. We managed to coax her into taking the medicine. Halfway through the swallowing of the powdered pill (mixed with a little prune juice), she went into a terrible bout of vomitting. Then I suggested that we mix the powder with really lots of prune juice. It really helped as she drank the remaining mixture of prune juice with powdered pill pretty comfortably after that. =)

Hmay will be transferring hospital at 11am tomorrow. Let's pray for a smooth and fast transition and that she will not be tired out by the whole process. =)

"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. " 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
