I was still talking and sms-ing with Hwai May on the day before Mother's Day (we were talking about how to best surprise and bring joy to our mothers on that special day). She was still cheerful and bubbly. Prior to that, i was in constant touch with her, even met up with her for a dinner and we really had fun.
On Wednesday (16/5), Hmay had fever and went to see a GP. The GP gave her a jab. When she reached home, she started vomiting (literally non-stop). So on Friday, she went back to the doc and the doc gave another jab. Hmay didn't think much of it as she thought it was just a bad case of stomach flu. She didn't get any better. In fact, she became so weak that her mom became concerned and sent her to a hospital on Saturday. Her mom thought it might be dengue but it turned out to be something else more abnormal.
