Pass it on!

Facebook, the modern tool for connection in this modern age.
Tagging, a term popularized by facebook to attached a person's name to a photo.
In tagging a photo with a particular person, you'll link the photo to the person's profile.
Most of the time the tagged photo will either have the person's face, or be in some ways related to the person.

It's been sometime since I logged into facebook. I was prompted by an email which informed me that I had been tagged in a photo. Curious, I logged into facebook to find out the content of the photo.

It was an unfamiliar photo, albeit with some vague resemblance of a mission trip where I went to Philippines in 2005 and Thailand in 2006.

Then I saw the caption "Thanks Huizhi for ur idea!" and remembered that a friend had gone on a recent mission trip to Indonesia over the Christmas season.

She had asked me for some gospel sharing ideas which she and her team could use on the trip, not just to share to the people there, but also to equip the Christians there to share. Specifically, she was looking for evangelism ideas which goes beyond the language barrier.

The 4 Spiritual Laws had been etched deeply into my training. On the other hand, remembering the Gospel in your hand requires memorizing the foundational basics. I personally like the "interactive" Bridge to Life gospel with the folding of the paper. I also like the "magical" story of Life and Hell with the tearing of the paper. Then I remembered a wordless gospel tract used one Christmas almost 10 years ago. The 5 coloured pages. No words on the DIY gospel tract.

I couldn't remember the exact colours and the sequence, but this is what I made up on my own.

Green - God created heavens and the earth. (Genesis 1:1)
Black - Sin entered into the human race when Adam and Eve disobeyed God. (Romans 3:23)
Red - Only the blood of Jesus can wash away our sins. (Hebrews 9:22)
White - We are justified through faith in Jesus. (1 John 1:9)
Gold - When we believe in Jesus, we are saved and given eternal life. (John 3:16)

I learnt this from my Youth For Christ leaders. I'm glad I could pass this on to my friend. I'm hoping that this will continue to be passed on from one christian to another would-be christian, who will in turn pass on to yet another christian-to-be.

Acts 5:27,34-39
Having brought the apostles, they made them appear before the Sanhedrin to be questioned by the high priest... But a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law, who was honored by all the people, stood up in the Sanhedrin and ... he addressed them: "Men of Israel, consider carefully what you intend to do to these men. Some time ago Theudas appeared, claiming to be somebody, and about four hundred men rallied to him. He was killed, all his followers were dispersed, and it all came to nothing. After him, Judas the Galilean appeared in the days of the census and led a band of people in revolt. He too was killed, and all his followers were scattered. Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God."

The Gospel of the Saving Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ has faced persecution and survived the last 2000 years. The true gospel will continue to be passed on because it is from God.

Will you believe or fight against God?
Will you stop or pass on the Truth of God?
