Secret Santa

What comes to your mind if you need to get something which is :
1) Nice Smell
2) Nice Colour
3) For Body

This was what I was supposed to get for my company's annual Christmas Party. Each of us were supposed to think of something we like, and write down 3 short descriptions of what we wanted. Then we'll draw lots, guess the item and go get it!

My guess was perfume..but what if it is a guy? Men's cologne and Women's perfume have really varied fragrance. So I came up with a great idea. Soap! With the latest NTUC advertisement, 9 bars of Lux (branded leh) soap costs only $2.80! I could get 60 pieces of soap to hit the $20 budget!!! So with the cheeky idea, I got together my act with big box of styrofoam (which I had kept for years!)
And to add to the fun, I thought, what if the nice smell, nice colour, for body is in powder form?
So I happily added a snake power => Lavender cos that will be purple instead of white to the package.

Hey what if the nice smell, nice colour, for body is vapour form? I guess, adding an Adidas Deodorant will be good..What if despite the fun and laughter, the recipient will still be disappointed? I guess, that's when the hidden Body Shop Gift Pack (complete with shower gel) comes in. Now, look back at the first picture. Can you spot all the items? ;)

In any case, thank God that I bingo-ed on the final item. The recipient wanted shower gel.

I still laughed at my colleague's disappointed face when she saw a super huge present (Imagine a big heavy carton). When she took her gift, she told the colleagues from her department "I just wanted shower gel." Haha.. From disappointment to a surprised giggles and then finally to joy of getting what she really wanted.

Elder Barney from CEFC asked two Sundays ago, "This Christmas, what are you looking for?"
Like my colleague, at first glance, she judged and thought badly of the gift. Yet when she dug deep enough and searched, she realised that there was what she had wanted.

My friends, what do you see and what are you looking for this Christmas? Would you search deeply for it or would you just remain unchanged where you are?

Proverbs 2:4-5
If you look for wisdom as for silver
and search for wisdom as for hidden treasure,
then you will understand the fear of the LORD
and find the knowledge of God.
