Kota Tinggi Adventure

Would you trust the GPS to take you to where you want to go? We are headed for Kota Tinggi in Malaysia!

After a dreary 2 hour traffic jam at the causeway (the GPS said 3mins for the 200m distance), we stopped by the newest Jusco for lunch. We settled for Secret Recipe because I wanted to taste how original the Lamb Stew is back in Malaysia.

After lunch and zipping around the mall, the faithful GPS let us to the Kota Tinggi Falls.I was a little disappointed to see a rather commercialised area. There were waterslides and a pool area built up. On the side were some deserted stalls selling food and swimstuff.

Here's the main attraction which isn't all that grandious.

Would I dare to venture into the water?

Yes I would! And I want to touch the ends of the waterfall!

Clinging on to the slippery rocks while trying to get myself not that wet.

But you know what? It is impossible not to get wet.. Because if you want to balance on the slippery rocks and stone on the riverbed, then the safest thing to do is to bend/squat down and feel around..

So as I headed towards the rushing falls, I gave up on trying to be dry. Heck! Just go and enjoy myself! I had to fight against the strong current in order to reach my "destination".I guess this is what the english word "lee" means when you say "hiding in the lee of the rock".

The bible uses the word "cleft of the rock" in some occasions, eg in Exodus 33:22, God said when His glory passes by, He will put Moses in a cleft in the rock and cover him with His Hand until He have passed by -- because the Glory of God is cannot be seen by man.

Since I'm all wet, I shall let the waters fall on me. It was a good massage. Waters of varying strength and speed and locations. Nothing too predictive made the water massage experience great! As I sat there for about 10-15 mins, sometimes fighting against the water, this song lyrics came to mind.

Empower me, like a rushing river flowing to the sea.
Lord, send Your Holy Spirit flowing now through me.
Till I'm living as Your child, victorious and free,
send the power of Your love, empower me.

Soon the sun set and after dinner, Home Sweet Home!

We shall keep the next destination for another time.

As for now, I shall just enjoy the memories of the rushing waterfall.

Psalms 42:7-8
Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls;
all your waves and breakers have swept over me.
By day the LORD directs his love, at night his song is with me—
a prayer to the God of my life.
