After clearing the last of the emails that I can, I took an hour's nap and caught a cab down to Changi Airport Terminal 1. Traffic was smooth and clear. It was literally quiet on the expressway from the west to the east, and I reached the airport in less than 30mins.
I'm proud of the Singapore Airport. There are many amenties provided : free internet, free local calls, free foot massage => and the best thing about these are that these are provided free.
10.30am Started another movie entitled the Book of Eli which is rated R. It was about a sole survivor in a post apocalyptic world holding on tightly to the last copy of the Bible. The movie was a tad slow, and perhaps the airplane's engine was too noisy, I wasn't really able to appreciate the show. The twist basically came in the end when I realised that the man was blind, but he memorised every word in the Bible so that he can help reproduce the Bible before he died.
1.30pm Peered out of the window as the plane touched down in Japan.
It was my first time in Japan. And I realised that as much as this country is developed, there are many agricultural land too.

On the way out of the plane, I bumped into Isaac. It was heartwarming to see a familiar face when one is travelling alone. He was on his way to Minnesota for a business trip as well. We went out own ways after going through the Japan customs.
I was a little lost in Narita Airport. Not all that lost because English is still used. But momentarily lost when there are are only Japanese characters and I have to stand there to wait for the English words to appear.
Narita airports provide internet and chair massage. The difference? You've got to pay if you want the services.
3.30pm JPT
Boarded the flight towards Los Angelos. Was a little dismayed that there was no inflight entertainment, but was also glad that I already caught what I wanted on the previous flight. (There isn't a great selection of movies anyway).

I turned on my laptop to do a little work before turning in to sleep.
This is afterall, night time in the US.
I was still feeling sleepy, but felt that I ought to stay awake, lest I couldn't sleep tonight.
Turned on the laptop to complete a long overdue report before going back to sleep at 10pm.
Sitting beside me was a Taiwanese girl who was travelling to the US for the first time. We had a little conversation and as we spoke, I felt so blessed to be a Singaporean -- born and taught to be fluent in both English and Mandarin.
Supper or lunch?
11.47pm
Touched down in Los Angeles. The plane was really on time despite the rain.
Los Angeles International Airport is huge. Those transiting to within US had to literally chec.k-out (get the luggage) and check-in again. And I literally got lost in LAX as I couldn't find the check-in counter to Vegas. It was after some asking that I realised that I needed to get out of the airport building and take the lift to the second floor to check in. (Arrival and Departure tHall huh). When I stepped out of the airport exit, I smelt the familiar air of US. I do miss this country!
And so from an average plane (which seats 2-4-2 in a row) to Japan, to a big plane (which seats 3-4-2 in a row) to LA, I went into a really small plane (which seats 2-2 in a row)!
Flying into the familiar old Neveda desert.
When I reached Las Vegas Airport, I was promptly greeted by Jackpot Machines and the feel of casinoes at the arrival hall.
After a 19 hour journey, I'm finally here!
Finding my way in the baggage claim area (it's huge!)
After claiming my baggage, I looked for a way to get to the hotel. The cheapest option seemed to be the airport shuttle. At USD12 for a roundtrip to and fro hotel and airport, it didn't seem too bad a deal.
While waiting for the shuttle to arrive, the familiar limousine which I first saw in Vegas a few years ago appeared. How I wish I get to sit in one of these.
Leaving MacCarren Airport.
Stopping by Hooters Hotel which is nearest to the airport.

Enroute, the bus driver will share about the latest promotions and deals in town.
Reaching MGM, which is just opposite where I would be staying.
The start of the Las Vegas strip begins here.
Turning into Tropicana.
It was around 3pm in the afternoon. My colleague from The Philippines was supposed to touch down at 5pm and I thought I would wait for her at the hotel. However, when I tried to boot up my laptop, it just wouldn't bulge. I almost panicked as I had just completed a number of reports on the flight. Surely they are all not gone?

Since there was nothing I could do with the laptop, I thought I might as well take a walk outside.
Though not my first trip to Vegas (http://princesspetrine.blogspot.com/2007/07/stress-free-in-las-vegas.html), this is indeed my first time in Vegas in a bright lazy afternoon.
From the Statue of Liberty from New York to the Golden Gate in San Francisco.

From a Mega Coke Bottle to a HardRock Guitar.
These are just some of the sights I see while walking towards the conference venue at Ceaser Palace.
Reaching Caesar's Palace, I figured that we'll need to get out of the hotel about 40mins earlier every morning to make our way to the conference. This is about the same distance of my home to the office.
Took a different route back to the hotel, and saw some sights hidden from the main street.
