Extravagance in Vegas

Attending this conference reminded me of the conference I attended 3 years ago in Silicon Valley (http://princesspetrine.blogspot.com/2007/07/in-san-jose-attending-barracuda.html )

Good food..

Nice Venue.. Here's overlooking the pool (aka Roman Baths) from the windows on the 4th level where the conference is held.

And the Haagen Daz ice-cream really brought back some nostalgia. I ate the same ice-cream when I was on the 2nd day of the conference I attended in US 3 years ago!

Coloured tortilla chips in between breaks.

6.30pm Catching the free show in Caesar's Palace.

It's the Fall of Atlantis - and I've seen it 3 years ago. The main attraction of the show is the lifelike image and movement of the statues in the midst of the battle of fire and water.

Something that I didn't see 3 years ago?

The iPad! Well, I've already seen it back in Singapore early this year when someone used the iPad to do his presentation. Hmm.. should I get one too?

Ice-cream too beautiful to be destroyed..

Hanging around Caesar's Palace while waiting for the shuttle to pick us up for the night event.

On the way to the Palms.

This hotel is a little on the outskirt of the Vegas Strip, and I didn't know much about it.

I was told that this hotel has one of the most expensive suites in Vegas.

Wanna guess how much a night stay in the most expensive suite in Vegas cost?

A whooping USD40,000 per night! My filipino colleague did a quick maths and said that would be more than a million pesoes per night in her currency!

When we reached, we took the lift to the highest floor where one of the most extravagant nightclub is.

While lovely food and drinks greeted us around the club, the first thing I tried to do is to enjoy the panaromic view of the city from the top of the building.

Catching the city sights before the sunset.

Enjoying the various types of cuisine and wine served.

Some sat on the outside enjoying the lights and sights of Vegas in the night.

Others danced and partied the night away in the disco.

Pub at the top of the hotel has a rooftop like a car convertible.

It opens to let the smoke out, and allows some to look up into the night sky.

Such is the extravagance of those who have the money to spend in Vegas.

Leaving the Palms, we went back to the Vegas strip.

Since the timing was right, we stayed on to watch the Volcano erupts at Mirage.

Calm and peaceful flowing water out of the "volcano".And it erupts with fire gushing out.

Some of the sights of Vegas at night.

No James Bond in sight at Casino Royale.

It's getting late and we still have one more day of conference tomorrow, so we headed back to the hotel.
