Laughlin

Back to Vegas and wandering to the other almost secluded end nearer to the airport. So Luxor though far off still attracts the crowd. Not just for the live magic show by Criss Angel, but even simply to have a look at the coin stuck permanently in the glass
after a gig by Criss Angel himself.
I didn't visit these casinso. These photos were taken from the bus ride on the way to Laughlin.

Out of the Vegas city and into the desert again.

An apple for breakfast? Thank God for a healthy trip thus far! =)

Finally arriving at Laughlin. The bronze statue on the right is Mr Laughlin, the one who founded this place.

This US10 trip comes included with a free buffet lunch.
And free play. I think it's worth10USD too. That's how they attract the crowds from Vegas - those who want to gamble, but away from the hustle and bustle of the glittering city. The bus dropped us off at Colorado Belle.

A building which loooks like a ship.

With the kois in the surrounding waters, it does makes you feel like you are boarding a cruise when you enter the cruise.

On the other side of the building, is the river where I caught this pair of mandarin ducks frolicking in the crystal clear waters.

No one's stopping you from swimming in the river. Just be warned that even though this is sunmer, the water temperature can be really cold!

As I walk westwards, I notice a few wishing wells along the way. I guess that's probably the way the americans ask for good luck when they gamble. But I ponder.. who do they wish from? Is there a genie in the well?

It's a quiet little town, cool and peaceful on the outside.

So my plan was to walk on the outside eastwards enjoying the scenary by the seaside, past 5 casinos hotels, to this free Classic automobiles exhibition.

The display is pretty much the same as that which I saw in Vegas. Vintage cars which you see in old classic movies.

Done with the cars, I walk back to the Colorado Belle by waeving in and out of the various casiones hotel.
Here I am, hungry enough for lunch.

There's s a great variety of food.

The USD10 for this trip would have easily been covered back from the buffet meal itself.

From shellfish to pasta, fried chicken wings and BBQ ribs, i just enjoyed my meal slowly as I flipped through a magazine.

I had literally 3 rounds of food.
Various types of pastas, and meat, and veggies.

I think the waitresses must have been amazed by this asian girl's capacity to eat so much!

And not forgetting dessert!
But oh well, I had wanted this meal to last me till the rest of the day. So why not just eat more? =P
After a hearty meal, I continued my journey westwards.

There are about 10 casinoes in Laughlin, and I have till 4pm to complete the rest of this little town.
This is a cowboy-like resort.
Yet another wishing well.

Walking through a canopy of blooming flowers.
Be Still and listen to the lapping of the waves, and feel the cool breeze on your face.

See the evenly spaced gray rocks between the bushes and the lamp posts? So that's where the music along the pathways comes from!Funny why I'm simply not attracted by the glitzy names of the casinoes. From Macau, Vegas to Laughlin, I have not put in a single cent. Reaching the eastward end of Laughlin.
A royla welcome by a tribe of stone mokeys.

And now to make my way back!

Seen a globe made purely from gemstones?
That might just be a possible purchase from happy gambler who made good profits sometime down the future..
So back to Vegas.
Nope, that is not a signboard. The advertisements are commonly found on moving trucks. And I always wondered if the gals were indeed being transported in those trucks to those who requested for the services.

Oh, and if you are into pornography, you could go around collecting these little pocket sized cards which is filled with an amazing variety of seductive pictures posed by gals whom I believe are out of the world =P

I thought I just wanted try catching a glimpse of the lions at MGM.
But alas, so many days in/nights in Vegas, yet I have never managed to see the lions. With regards to the lions, my only consolation is that I have seen lions in the very best Singapore Zoo before. So in some sense, not much of a loss.

I paused at a stamp vending machine. Hmm.. nope, note the kind of stamps which is worth collecting.

9.30pm. Will I be able to catch the show at Treasure Island after soooo many days in Vegas?

Finally the show started! White vs Red, Water effects vs Fire effects, Ladies vs Men.

Truly one of the more spectacular shows worth watching. No wonder the endless crowd gathers each night in anticipating for it.

See the crowd from all around me...
Enbjoying the last sights of the night in Vegas.
Taking the less crowded route of the venatian canal back.
Hey! I met Whoopi Goldberg on the way back!
Ok ok .. It was Madame Tussauds. Nope, I didn't enter the musuem.
As night falls, I can see the stark contrasts between the casinoes in Vegas and Laughlin.

In some sense, I could say that Vegas is indeed phenomenal.
The atmosphere is clearly built up for the image of Sin City.
