To Pokhara!

7am (9am SGT) Waking up to a fresh new day. One thing which I was thankful and impressed about is that the 3rd bed is a proper bed, not a makeshift one. =) So all of us gals had a good night's rest.Proceeding to the Hotel dining area for Breakfast!

Feasting up a sumptous breakfast.
And topping up on .. not so clear water.. no the cup is supposedly white..

Enjoying the cool fresh air at the hotel garden.
Enjoying being the photographer with my teammates as very cooperative models. =P
Last minute reminders posted at the Hotel Lobby before we left for Pokhara.

Loading into the humble private van.

Amazing cyclist?
How about an amazing head?

Scenes along the way.Stuck in a jam up on the mountain?
Some will take the opportunity to pee by the road side, while we take a quick snap of the scenary!
Fields of harvest towards end Autumn.

Harvested fields.

Toilet break!
While waiting for my turn to use the "toilet", we took a few snapshots of the surroundings.

Fireplace made of clay, and a kitchen made out of a few pots and plates in a little room.
Continuing our journey.

Buying fruits from hawkers on the roadside.

Bananas for 20rupees.
Mandarin oranges.. ok they don't look good here, but hey, they are really sweet and tasty!
Lunch!
Sumptuous buffet spread huh? - both Continental and Buffet Spread..
So why then did I take so little food?
Cos there were really a lot of insects in this place.. and the first insect I saw was a full grown cockcroach in the soup bowl! Argh!

Otherwise, insects like butterflies fluttering around is actually quite lovely.. But where there are insects, there will be cold blooded creatures with long tongues that eat them..
Phew! Finally lunch is over.. more sights!.. Seen a goat obediently on top of a bus?
Of course, human beings atop buses are common sights..
Woman harvesting the fields.
Contingency plan for a dusty road trip.
Little villages along the way.. Bulls roaming along the roads..

Sheep grazing along the roads..
Do you see anything new in the "sky"?

Travelling towards the ice-capped mountains!
Another toilet break.

Beginning our trek!

It was really encouraging to see a bible verse at the beginning of the trek. God's Word promises us that we are not alone and that He will be with us along the way!

Emmanuel. God is with us.

Of Chickens and Ducks.
Playing hop-scotch with children.
Applying for a "second visa" to enter into the Annapurna Conservation Area.

Clear water flowing in the river.
From Nayapool to Biretani
Reaching our lodge for the night!
Catching a breather at the garden.
Hmm.. is that mattress on the ground a hint that this is a good place for star gazing?
Our simple lodge with 3 solid beds! Nice dinner!
Guess what we are doing?
I had learnt that there will be a Leonid Meteorite shower on 17th Nov, so I thought there will be no harm trying to look out of the sky every night. I was already awed by how bright the night sky is with the numerous sky when I thought I saw a shooting star!
Psalm 8:3-4
"When I consider Your heavens
the work of Your fingers
the moon and the stars
which you have set in place
What is man that You are mindful of him,
the son of man that You care for him?"
What a beautiful way of ending the day!
In an hour, we saw 4 shooting stars! =)
God treated me (us) to the most beautiful starlit night sky which I've never seen my entire life!
Psalm 147:4-5
"He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.
Great is our Lord and mighty in power; His understanding has no limit."
