Beginning the Real Trek

I was on the way to the bathroom when I thought I saw a magnificient sight through my blurry eyes. We didn't see this yesterday when we reached the lodge because it was considered dark already.

The mountains glow as the sun rays fall upon them.

Enjoying a sumptuous breakfast before beginning the real trek.
We are at 1050m high now.

Mules and Donkeys transporting goods along the way.

Crossing a solid bridge.

Passing by the river. And upward going we began to climb. Barely 2 hours on the journey, I tripped and fell! But I was thankful because I fell on soft sand so my knees were ok. And because I was holding my walking stick on my left hand, and the camera on my right hand, the walking stick and camera saved my tender hands from scratches and injuries! But this was what happened to my camera..
I thought the camera was really gone when after another hour on the road, while we were at one of a resting point, Sylvia suddenly turned to me and said "Hey, I heard your camera is working already." I replied with a downcast face, "No leh, who told you?" With that, I took out my camera to turn it on to show her that it is not in a condition to take more photos. All I could say is that God must have been watching over me! The camera worked perfectly fine (except for a need to open the shutter manually). I was so overjoyed! I was well and not injured, and the camera (for which I had collected extra memory card and batteries to last along the way) is working!
So here's resuming the photo taking. The bamboo trees above reminded me of flutes. And I wondered if I could get a bamboo flute!

Men threshing their harvest while buffaloes roam on the range.
Yellow leaves: the sights of Autumn.
"How long more do we have to go before we reach for lunch?" we asked our guide.
He thought for a while and replied "One hour."
"How long more before we reach our destination?" we asked again.
He paused for a while and replied with a smile "One hour.."
I realised that the time measurement was not absolute! At the rate we pause to take photos, or take a breather, the ONE hour can last forever...
Finally we reached our lunch point!
I took the menu to show you that Plain Rice is Pain Rice.. much as you avoid it now, you'll want to take it someday.. I'll show you in days to come =PAble to guess this tea? I like the way the locals serve the food so naturally..

You know it's not from a can or satchet of powder when they throw in freshly plucked mint leaves to make you a mint tea drink. =)
Chinese dumplings in Nepal? They call it Mo-Mo.. Traditional Nepalese Dhal Rice, or Omelette?
We like Papadum! More please!
Let's check out if this toilet is better =P

Continuing our journey to Ulleri.

6 hours to Gorephani? We'll do that tomorrow..

Cherry blossoms!
Take a break!
Kim had wanted to hang her towel to dry it as she treks. Little did she realised that as her towel dries, it had also diligently attracted and collected some prickly thorns along the way. =P

Ready harvests.

Nepal the land of Never End(ing) Peace And Love!
Millet.

Processing the millet by hand.

"Hi folks! We've probably climbed 2000+ steps, what's another 20 steps here?"Red leaves - another sign of Autumn colours.
Cloudy skies shade out the sun, but hopefully it will not rain.

A little hut by the streams with a blooming cherry blossom tree. This reminded me of the movie UP. Why not just find an idyllic place like this and live peacefully forever?
A small village with buddhist and tibetan flags hanging all over.

Resting by a Cherry Blossoms Tree.Thanking God for holding back the rain and the good weather.Rays from the Sunset resting on the snow capped mountains. Reaching our lodge for the night.
Enjoying a good dinner with the other Singaporean team. =)Once again I want to thank our faithful and merciful Almighty God for keeping me safe and sound and free from injuries despite the fall earlier in the morning. It was a subtle reminder to me to tread carefully for the rest of the treks. Not to be only looking through the camera's pinhole, but learning to be aware and alert of the surroundings and the real path ahead.
Proverbs 4:10-12
"Listen, my son, accept what I say, and the years of your life will be many. I guide you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths. When you walk, your steps will not be hampered; when you run, you will not stumble."
Help me not to look through the eyes of the world, but to seek and follow the ways of the Lord.
