Just trying to find something to blog.. hope I won't be marked by the Chinese Government.. But lately there's been so much of these news going around..
The latest one was China-made children's clothes which are prone to catching fire. TI figured that the main problem was that the product was labelled "fire resistant". The louder news prior to the clothes was on the Mattel toys which were "heavily leaded". Of course we have all sorts of other stuff like salted eggs, preserved foods, milk powder, even disposable chopsticks that we had been told to be wary about..
I stumbled upon this website.. and you'll be amazed that this site actually kept a detailed timeline of just the very things that are dangerously made in China this year: http://www.who-sucks.com/business/made-in-china-2007-danger-timeline
Ok, my main point? Well... the reason that I mainly brought back Californian made chocolates from US was that almost every other thing that I saw there was "Made in China". Duh right? I just couldn't bring myself to buy Golden Gate Bridge Paperweights, Hollywood Awards or Las Vegas shirts that were Made in China.. And I'm sure glad I didn't.
