Trust

Logically speaking, when we shift into a new home, we buy everything new at the same time. So when things spoil, they probably spoil all at the same time. After replacing a leaking tap, a burning fire stove, 3 clocks which stopped, rice cooker which overcooks, bathroom light which flicker, in the past 3 weeks, I'm tired. (And I still have an outstanding replacement for the electric kettle which wouldn't boil)

I thought things should get better now. How much worse can it get?

Then the home computer began dying, and the home laptop just wouldn't work, the airpot is not longer keeping warm, a pail is broken, and today, mom informed me matter of factly as I got home "There's something wrong with the oven toaster". And matter of factly I replied "Mom, actually I'm fine with the things breaking down. But wouldn't it be better if they all breakdown at the same time instead of one item a day?"

Why does God allow this to happen? I don't know.

All of a sudden, this old song which a university senior shared with me years ago became meaningful to me.

Jesus said "Let not your heart be troubled: you believe in God, believe also in Me."
- John 14:1

Lord, I don't understand but I choose to Trust Your Heart.
