Anticipation

Having lost 1 handphone and changed 3 handphones in the past 20 months, I can't wait for the day my subscription plan is up so that I can get a new proper phone free when I renew my plan. As the day approaches, I eagerly look out for advertisements on the latest (and most cost effective) handphones.

It's been such a long time since I had such enthusiasm of looking forward to something. Perhaps it's because the current phone which i'm using is really failing me (missing/delayed smses & muffled speaker is literally irritating me to the core). And that makes me really excited to having a new proper phone.

Recently over dinner with a couple of christian galfrens, we were talking about the next destination which we would like to visit. One of them mentioned Tibet and Peru, while I shared about the Himalayas in Nepal. After a thoughtful pause, another wistfully mentioned Israel, and thereafter interjecting the conversation naturally with "before the Lord comes".

Yes, the Lord Jesus is coming back someday soon. Yet, do we anticipate His Coming with more excitement or is our eyes set only upon things of this transient world?

Matthew 24:42
"Therefore keep watch,
because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.
But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. "
