In the last ten years, many have been in her life.. 3310, 8520, 6510. Seven years ago, she had loved and thought that 6510 will always be with her. She loved it when she first had it and thought it will be with her forever. But because her dad wanted it back, so she obediently gave it back.. Then 6610i came into her life. Something new and interesting, more colourful and more memories..but alas.. 6610i left her unexpectedly, without saying a word. So 8520 returned into her life until it's memory failed and could serve her no longer. She dug back into history and found the old faithful 3310 who was first with her and had always been with her, waiting to be used again. It accompanied her till it died a natural death. Thereafter, there was another within the vicinity (which she must apologise for forgetting its name). That too was lost in an unusual freaky car accident. When she thought that it will be a long time before she can find a new companion in her life, 8210 volunteerily came into her life and served her faithfully till the w810i which she yearned for entered into her life.
For about 6 months, she totally enjoyed the company of the new w810i, touring US together, capturing many beautiful landscape photos (which you could see on her blog in 2007) and even recorded some of her self-composed songs.. and just while she was relishing and getting used to w810i in her life, it was abruptly abducted away from her life at one of her weakest moments..
From then on.. there's no more faith, no more hope, no more trust that a companion will be with her forever. Especially so, if it is a good worthy companion. 6510 came back to her for a while (just to tide over the tough times) but it didn't stay for long. Then k220i offered itself into her life. It was simple yet faithful. It was unable to capture beautiful memories or help record voices or sing beautiful music to her. But it was faithful. Every morning without fail, it would wake her up gently from her sleep. And as long as she doesn't wake up, it would snooze every 10 mins till she wakes up. Occasionally it would lose some messages, sometimes there are miscommunications, but faithfully it has never left her side. Perhaps because it is so simple, that's why no one will want to snatch it away from her. Perhaps it's because it's so simple and easily contented, it will just stay by her side always, faithfully, even though it knows that it doesn't belong to her, even though it knows that she will discard it for another someday when the time comes. And so k220i stuck alongside her for a day, a month, a year, and then almost 2 years. Perhaps it had become out of convenience that she doesn't want to change companion anymore. Perhaps she had gotten used to the plain but "do-able" lifestyle with k220i. Perhaps she is no longer affected by the jeers of her peers for sticking with such an oldblock.. But silently, perhaps its because she had been so jaded, so lost, so afraid that she would lose the new companion just like the rest that she didn't feel the desire to change and go through the grieving process anymore..
Yet society thinks otherwise. And pressure sets into her that she must change. "I thought you were going to change?" "When are you going to change?" "Why haven't you change yet?" "How can you live with that?" "You haven't changed?!?" For it is stupidity in the eyes of the world not to get a new companion when you can get another one.. "hey, you are entitled to it!" "Why are you wasting time? Time is money!" So it's time to change and she must change or she will lose out in the dog eat dog world.
And so, k220i could only watch helplessly as she goes around exploring other possible companions. She considered T700, but was told that it was a jack of all trades, master of none and was advised against because she was told that it wouldn't last. She liked the C901 because it helped her reminisc the good of old days of capturing beautiful memories on the go but she was also intrigued by Cookie and Preston. 2 interesting new additional choices in her life.
Which one would she choose? Cookie caught her attention first, but because of its background, she was a little apprehensive of it. Then Preston caught her attention. It was not as though Preston came from a fantastic background, but at least in the eyes of the world, it came from a better background than Cookie. She admired the fact that Cookie was able to communicate in more languages more easily, but she was also swayed by the fact that Preston was able to help her capture more memories beautifully and perhaps also connect with her other friends more effectively. Which would she choose?
She procrastinated and procrastinated. Second by second, minute by minute ticked by. Days turned into weeks and into months.
Eventually she decided to be faithful to the one she first saw. Even though Cookie did not have everything, even though it seemed that some of the perks did not come with it anymore (because she had waited too long), she decided that it is a decision she has decided to take, and with it, she'll bear the sacrifices that come along with the commitment.
Alas when she started searching for Cookie, she couldn't find it anymore. Everywhere she asked, they would say that it is no longer available. And some would even say that Preston is a better choice, because it is newer and had more capabilities. But her heart had been set on Cookie right from the beginning and she has decided to be committed to it (at least for the next 2 years) ..
Eventually it must have been a special blessing that someone who had the ability to conduct a marriage for her and Cookie. It was a rare process, typically hush hush, but he did it. He managed to bring her and the Cookie together.
Today, the gal and Cookie are enjoying the honeymoon period. She had lots of adjustment to make because it is a totally new companion. Different from the rest of the other companions who had been in her life. But she is happy. There may be some flaws in Cookie, but she's willing to bear with it because it is a choice she has made. She's now praying that this relationship will last as long as it is being contracted.. because she doesn't want to lose Cookie and go through another heart wrenching moment again.
God had blessed this union. The perks of additional memories had been provided unconditionally, so is the perks of other accessories so that she will still have freedom to do other stuff when Cookie is with her.

I'm not sure how long Cookie will last.
But one thing I'm sure, is that the Lord's love will last longer than the Cookie.
Psalms 147:11
"the LORD delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love."
I put my hope in God. =P
