Taste and See

Received a surprise belated birthday present today.

It's accompanied by a very cute card with the verse from Psalms 34:8 "Taste and see that the Lord is good."

I was asked to guess which chocs are alcoholic.

I picked the one that was melting fast.. The mainly white one.. and bit into it.

Yummmmzzzz....

The richness of the flavor literally burst in my mouth! Wow.. I wasn't expecting this rich flavor and was caught so unaware that my tastebuds was overwhelmed! This first mouthful was sweet, but not overpowering. Was there alcoholic content? I couldn't be sure! But one thing I do know is that this has brought an inner joy which comes with a silly smile on my face.

I remember Psalms 119:103 "How sweet are Your Words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!" If the chocs are so nice that I would want to share it with someone else the next time I eat them, is the Word of God then sweet enough for me to want to share it with another?

Psalms 19:9-10

The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever.
The ordinances of the LORD are sure and altogether righteous.
They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold;
they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb.
