Of Waitings and Blessings

"See you later." I sent her a message and then waited for her to come while I chatted and caught up with others, I looked out for her, but I couldn't find her. I waited for a while and then I left. Only to have her call me on the phone "Where are you?" (Perhaps because of her gentleness and kindness, she omitted the next phrase of "I thought you asked me to look for you.") I was embarrased. I was the one who asked her to meet, but yet I had left without seeking, without waiting long enough.

How could I have forgotten this lesson learnt so quickly? (I recently lost another opportunity to bless and minister because I was too eager to go my own way). Couldn't I just wait a little longer, couldn't I just search with a little more effort?

Lord, forgive me for my self-centredness. Teach me to be more patient and seeking, just as you patiently wait and seek for Your children to turn back to you.

Jesus says "Come to me, all who are weary." Matthew 11:28 God asked us to go to Him. So many times we say "we will come, we will come", sometimes, even setting specific day and time. Alas, more often then not we became caught up with the world and things centering around self and missed the appointment with Him.

How thankful I am to know that He will not go away. Instead He will wait for us. For He is patient with us, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9

Have you kept Him waiting today?

Luke 15:20 "But while the young man was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him."

Jesus died on the cross with open arms for you and me. If you have not yet come to Him, please know that He has been waiting for you with open arms because He wants to embrace you with His open arms. If you would just move one step towards Him, He would run to you! =)

Don't keep Him waiting!! =)
