As I watched the delegates representing their nations for the Olympics coming out on TV, I see their hopes and dreams and aspiration. The Olympics will be their game of hope for glory, fame and recognition.
The number 8 in Chinese, sounds like prosper, prosper, prosper. With the craze over the special date, the Singapore authorised lottery company came up with a special draw for this day. And back in Singapore, I saw many hopefuls joining the snaking queues for a chance to play the game of hope.
In one of the lottery house. someone bought a Lottery ticket (by indicating some divine numbers) which costs $14 (and I thought it is only 50cents per bet).
What would you do with $120?
Spend it over lunch with a few friends?
For ladies, get a new dress and hairdo?
For guys, new IT gadgets?
"An inheritance quickly gained at the beginning will not be blessed at the end. " Proverbs 20:21
I was just wondering.
"Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gains understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her." -- Proverbs 3 : 13
Are you playing any Game of Hope? What are you hoping for today?
Wouldn't you bet on my God instead? It doesn't cost you a cent.
And the treasures, in Heaven, are eternal.
"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. " Matthew 6:19-21
