Recently caught up with an old business associate (stationed in California) via msn. We worked rather closely when I was in my previous company and had lost touch. She was planning to come to Singapore this November and we had been talking about catching up when she's in town.

C: she told me last year that she was sick
but felt better
her sister-in-law posted so many messages
from her getting very sick, then she finally passed away
i shivered when i was reading it
thought you knew her & hung out with her
so i wanted to tell you

but yes, we had great fun time
even after the conference, we went to baseball match
and had a drink with you two

she invited me to her house
she made me dinner
she told me that she got some health issues
but then she was fine later on
didn't think she would die :(
i sent her an email & called her recently
wanted to tell her that i was going to Japan for our honeymoon
and then she passed on
all so sudden
i felt so sad yesterday
even today
when i think about it
she was such a nice person

Me: life's soooo fragile
How do you define bad news? Life has been so rough that I wanted to ensure that bad news are really bad before it is being labelled as bad news. To hear about deaths has never been a good news. And this is the 3rd death in 3 months I've faced.
In the midst of the shock and unspoken words, I was glad 3 years ago, in the middle of California, on a 2 hour journey to a baseball match that evening, I was able to weave in the love of Christ amidst my conversation to this lovely Japanese lady. I heaved a silent relief that I had done my part to share the good news with her, that I was glad that I did it.
Would you share the good news before the bad news come? I'm glad I did.
Acts 14:15
We too are only men, human like you. We are bringing you good news, telling you to turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made heaven and earth and sea and everything in them."
Would you receive the good news and accept it before the bad news come? Please do.
Mark 1:15
"The time has come," Jesus said.
"The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!"
God loves us so much that He sent Jesus to share the good news of salvation.
