A reunion of 2 friends

Didn't send the regular mass sms-es over Christmas and New Year.. So as I was travelling to Chinatown on Chinese New Year Eve, I thought why not just do a blast to all that I have on my contact list. Afterall, after losing my phone mid last year, I have less than 50 contacts on my phone now anyway. And so I did.

This morning, I received a weird reply from a friend.
Her:"Hey! Where are you?"
Me: "Me? I've not moved. Where are you?"
Her: "I'm in NY now! So glad to hear from you!"

It's a weird reply cos I was the one who initiated the sms, so it's ironic that I was being interrogated about my absence.. And then it was only later that we realised that she had been trying to contact me before she left, but I never replied her smses/calls. But I really didn't receive anything from her either.

Anywayz, so glad are the two close friends of 10 years reunited.. adding each other on msn and facebook, chatting away happily and updating on the lost months of absence.


This set me pondering.
God has never moved. He is always near.
Some of us consistently walked with Him.
Some of us were near Him and then we went away from Him.
Some of us never wanted to come nearer to Him.

The Psalmist declares in Psalms 145: 18

The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.

And God spoke through Isaiah 33: 13

"You who are far away, hear what I have done;

you who are near, acknowledge my power! "
