My churchmates were shocked that i was going to share the gospel within 3 sentences of talking to this lady who had just walked into church to attend the service this morning. But somehow in that few sentences, i was sure that she is already a christian (that she has accepted Christ).. just that she wasn't sure (and all she needed was that little bit of encouragement).. I was sure that the harvest is ripe!
It was such great and unbelievable teamwork that all I could say is that God must have planned and guided each one of us to do His work!
SisterA brought Newfriend to introduce to me after service. SisterB came along to say hi and then realised from my conversation that I have that intention to share (but no 4SL at hand! arghh.. of all days!!! I usually carry 1 or 2 booklets in my bag/bible) so sisterB excused herself gently ( and I think she literally ran to go and get the 4SLs, and I'm so glad she knew that I was referring to the 4SL and not other gospel tracts.)
And while I was trying to get to know Newfriend better (aka casual conversation), SisterA went to chase the youths out of the lounge (yes, we have a little nice cosy room for heart to heart talk).
By the time SisterA "chased" the youths out, we entered into the lounge "naturally" with SisterB coming in with the little booklets.
And me, being me.. so straightforward... taking over the little booklet from SisterB's hand, i just went ""Oh, have you seen this little booklet before?" *smile* (and read the title of the booklet) "Have you heard of the 4 spiritual laws?"
The rest I'ld say, is heaven rejoicing !!!
During the sharing, i engaged everyone.. to read various parts of the booklet (as in crusade training, to pace myself out in the midst of my rush.. yea.. i have a lunch appointment! But God's work is more important!!) and while sisterA was reading the first verse, i was sneaking a quick prayer in my heart!! (It's been about 6 months since i last shared.. Would i forget bits and pieces of the sharing? ... help me, Lord!)
Then we came to the left circle and right circle portion. Crusaders will all close their eyes and know that left circle is where Christ is not in our life, while right circle is where Christ is in our life.
And Newfriend paused. She really paused.
Paused. (Prayer in my pounding heart. "Please help me not to have to explain too much. Please let it be a sure answer.")
And then she verbalised her thoughts (which I thought was extremely great and helpful!)
Yes, she wanted to be the right circle! She wanted to live a life with Christ in her life! YAY!!
So I turned to the next page, read through the sinner's prayer and asked the all famous question " Does this prayer express the desire of your heart?"
She smiled and said "Yes!" And so we prayed out loud together. That today, 19th October 2008, someone came to know for sure that she is a Christian, a Child of God.
Then i did assurance of salvation with her that God will never leave nor forsake us.
That she don't have to pray different versions of sinners prayer.
That if anyone ask her if she is a christian, she can assuredly say "YES!"
We finished the rest of the booklet (including the thanking God part), the faith part and the fellowship part. (Pray that she'll join us on a regular basis!)
And as we walked downstairs to join the rest for lunch, I asked her again "If anyone ask you if you are a christian, what would you say?" she smiled with confidence this time (so differently from 45mins ago) and whispered "yes!" (the sweetest word I heard today!)
After sharing the testimony and receiving a few "PTLs (aka Praise The Lords) rejoices online, one brother commented "you happened to be the ONE.." =)
All I could say is that it's truly the Holy Spirit's prompting (+ good campus crusade for Christ training and Kudos to Lifang and Ailing for the great teamwork!)
It's all God's Glory, by His Grace!
Please pray with me that Newfriend will come to church next week. and i would want to follow up with her on the Holy Spirit Booklet. This new sister in Christ has great potential for our Lord Jesus!
Luke 15:8-10 "Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Does she not light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, 'Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.' In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."
Friends, would you like to take that step of faith and let me and my brothers & sisters-in-Christ rejoice together with the heavens too?
